Highlights

Technology integration for 330,772 square foot hotel and 142,500 square foot parking garage including structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, emergency responder radio communications system, cellular distributed antenna system, audio visual, guest room locks and uninterruptible power supply.
JE Dunn began construction in the spring of 2019 on the 330,772 square foot hotel and parking garage. They kept the owner’s goal in mind throughout the project’s lifespan, accommodating the everchanging needs of the hospitality industry. The team’s project purpose statement says it all, “Welcoming a new legacy for Nashville through first-class quality and southern hospitality.”
COVID-19 hit during the middle of the project so the team could not facilitate traditional, in-person pull plan sessions. To overcome this challenge, they used the online tool, MURAL. MURAL allowed all team members to collaborate as if they were in the room together.

Connectivity enhances luxury resort experience

The new Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville brings the character and charm of Southern living to light. Part of Hyatt’s fast growing lifestyle brand of contextually specific properties—Downtown Nashville introduces a contemporary hospitality experience rooted in the layered history of its locale.

A Summary

Located in Music City’s SoBro neighborhood, the new Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville brings the character and charm of Southern living to light. The hotel is located two blocks off-Broadway and is within walking distance of many notable attractions in Nashville.

The new hotel includes 252 guest rooms and 11 suites that feature views of Nashville’s skyline and the Cumberland river. Additional amenities include two signature restaurants, an amenity deck with a rooftop pool and bar, and a fitness center. The hotel has more than 7,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre-function space, a ballroom featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, and an outdoor terrace overlooking the SoBro neighborhood.

Collaborative Approach

Because of the design process, the team worked closely with Ragland to find creative ways in reaching design expectations while staying within budget.

Through our existing relationship with C.B. Ragland, JE Dunn was approached about the project back in 2014. Our preconstruction team worked diligently with the owner and architect on multiple project iterations before heading into construction.

The Results

Through adversity due to a global pandemic, Aptitude was still able to meet the original project deadline within the original budget. With technology integration that provides surveillance and communication systems for hotel staff and cellular and security systems for guests, the team has created a stylish, comfortable place for travelers to lodge right in the heart of downtown Nashville.
